Burtons’ Territory Manager, Jo Jago, collaborated through several onsite visits, with planning sessions literally conducted “in the kitchen over cups of strong coffee”, to map out the clinical and reception zones. Jo’s combination of RVN experience and technical equipment knowledge, along with our experienced project design specialists, made it possible to lay out rooms efficiently and ensure key details (like species-specific waiting areas and staff flow) were handled precisely.

Collaborative design

Our team worked side-by-side with Colin and Lizzy to map each clinical space for optimal workflow, safety, and accessibility. Starting with an initial measure up of room sizes and layouts.

Demonstration & visualisation

With hands-on demo units and photorealistic 3D room plans, decisions were made with the confidence that every piece of equipment will fit and function, as expected. 

The CAD drawings of the practice were revised and refined as many times as needed in consultation with the practice owners, drawing on almost half a century of clinic design expertise at Burtons to meet every need of the practice.

Tailored equipment solutions

Drawing from an extensive product range, we provided 3D renders and quote packs for each room plus a suite of demonstration units, allowing Colin and Lizzy to visualise and test every piece of equipment. The selection of mobile, height-adjustable tables and wall-mounted anaesthetic units addressed their need for flexible, space-saving solutions.

Piped Gas installation

The size and scale of the new Beacon VetCare Summercourt practice highlighted the challenge of supplying anaesthetic gases safely and cost-effectively. Regular transport and handling of cylinders would pose safety and logistical problems for staff, eliminating the need to carry cylinders over two floors.
Recognising that every detail can impact operational costs, staff wellbeing, and sustainability, our experts assessed the clinical needs and recommended piped gas and oxygen concentrators instead of relying solely on cylinders. This solution not only improves staff safety by reducing manual handling and associated risks but also lowers delivery miles and the practice’s carbon footprint—making it a cost-effective, future-focused investment.
