What will the Essentials of Mechanical Ventilation webinar cover?

This live, interactive webinar provides a foundational understanding of mechanical ventilation and is applicable to all brands of small animal ventilator.

The webinar is ideal for those new to mechanical ventilation and also provides a valuable refresher for veterinary surgeons and nurses with experience of mechanical IPPV.

The session will explore when and why artificial ventilation is used and will examine the physiological processes underlying both spontaneous breathing and IPPV.

Knowledge of ventilation terminology is fundamental to understanding cycling and control modes. This will support discussion of the advantages of each ventilation method and help clarify when and why each should be used.

Monitoring mechanically ventilated anaesthetised patients will be covered, alongside practical guidance on introducing a patient to a ventilator and weaning them off IPPV.
